Bwindi’s Water Filtration System is needing some maintenance (Uganda, Africa)

The water filtration system in Uganda is running into unforeseen problems. Just as we thought that all the bugs had been worked out, the generator that was formerly in place at the location is requiring frequent repairs. If the generator is only working for several hours per day, then the capacity of the system is markedly reduced. We are looking into either replacing the generator, or getting a solar powered power source to run the system. Start up costs may be more expensive with solar but operating costs may be cheaper. Another thing to evaluate during the trip to Africa in October.
